Tom Ellard CD discography Quite possibly the best album title in all of industrial-disco--although Revolting Cocks' YOU GODDAMNED SON OF A BITCH has a certain earthy charm--1986's MIND: THE PERPETUAL INTERCOURSE is one of Skinny Puppy's most fascinating albums. This is clearly a transitional release that moves the duo of cEVIN Key and Nivek Ogre from the heavily Cabaret Voltaire-influenced sound of 1984's REMISSION and 1985's BITES into the near-symphonic shaping of found sound, film samples, and electronic beats. This sound would later spawn gems like CLEANSE FOLD AND MANIPULATE and VIVISECTVI. Three of this album's 13 tracks feature the sampling and electronic contributions of Dwayne Goettel whose hyperactive, Attention Deficit Disorder-style editing tricks give the songs a powerful and demented energy that the rest of the album lacks. Engineers: Cevin Key, Dave Oglivie, Adrian Sherwood. Producers: Cevin Key, Dave Oglivie, Adrian Sherwood, Justin Strauss, Murry Elias. Additional personnel: D. Rudolph Goettel (keyboards); Tom Ellard (drums); Dave Jackson (chainsaw); Wilhelm Schroder (background vocals).
City Slab Horror City Slab Horror CD (1985)

Tom Ellard albums Since 1979, Severed Heads' brand of post-industrial new wave has defied convention--conflating the farthest reaches of experimental sound with some of the most melodic synth-pop since early Depeche Mode. Using reel-to-reel tape recorders to assemble fragments of found sound--smashing melons, warped LPs, and TV dialogue--into rhythmic loops, their bold, decidedly unconventional methods prefigured the sampladelic, cut-and-paste aesthetic of hip-hop and DJ-driven dance music by nearly a decade. Fashioning a bold hybrid of avant-garde and pop sensibilities on CITY SLAB HORROR, the 1985 album splits the difference between the group's noisy industrial beginnings and later dance-pop sensibilities. Lacking much of the studio gloss of their New Wave peers, Severed Heads were more akin to an electronic garage band. Utilizing a battery of primitive drum machines and sequencers amidst buzz-saw guitar noise, lead man Tom Ellard's buoyant vocals rises above the grinding machine din like a more agreeable version of Gary Numan--especially on the bouncy synth-pop number "4.W.D." ...

Tom Ellard music CDs This 1989 record by the quirky Australian electro-pop group Severed Heads features "Midget Sings" and "Bad Times Three." The Australian group Severed Heads specialize in bizarre electronic sound collages that may or may not be entirely tolerable. Rotund for Success, released in 1989, is one of the band's better efforts, actually focusing more on actual songs than avant-garde experimentation. Main Head Tom Ellard has succeeded in crafting several catchy, ...
