Koenjihyakkei: Live at Koenji High DVD (2011)
Koenjihyakkei music CDs This musical release from the jazz fusion ensemble Koenjihyakkei captures a live performance from the group, recorded live after the wrap of the group's European tour, and featuring Yabuki Taku in keyboards. Tracks in the concert include "Dhorimviskha", "Rattims Friezz", "Phlessttighas", and more.
Imagine Yoshida Tatsuya's drum and bass punk-prog-metal dueo Ruins, preaching the one true interplanetary gospel - an overcharged jazz fusion opera emboldened by reeds, keyboards, and a soaring frontwoman speaking in somersaulting tongues. That still doesn't come close. This DVD is a live document of a band that is indescribably, performing at home fresh off their European tour with new members AH on vocals and Yabuki Taku on keybaords. Filmed with multiple cameras and excellent sound, this DVD is bare bones - no interview clips, no special features, just Koenjihyakkei live on stage.

Nivraym CD (2001)
Koenjihyakkei CD discography If any group of people is going to outdo crazed progressive rock, it would be the Japanese. And Koenjihyakkei, one project of Ruins member Tatsuya Yoshida, absolutely fits that bill. Their third album, NIVRAYM, and their first with replacement vocalist Nami Sagara, is a tossed salad of crazed but structured compositions featuring thrilling polyrhythms and acidic funhouse keyboards. It's a day-glo version of a 1970s lunatic fringe that only existed in a cartoon world of semi-made-up language and kaleidoscopic repetition. The meltdown synths and vocal harmonies of "Axall Hasck" and the tumbling drumbeats of "Becttem Pollt" are only the tip of the iceberg.
Recording information: 2001/2009.
