Passages Passages CD (2001)
CD $19.35 Buy CD  Details
Tim Lake CD discography Tim has been playing guitar for over 20 years. Born and raised in the suburbs south of chicago,he has been forming bands since the age of 15. In 1984 Tim began teaching guitar while still performing in clubs with original and cover type bands. In 1987 he moved to Reno, NV, where he began working for a video instruction company, allowing him to play guitar on camera in several different styles, and then get paid for it! Maybe youv'e seen one of these videos, but didn't know that was Tim under all that hair. Wanting to go in a different direction,Tim started writing instrumental contemporary Jazz style music, which he has been listening to for years, but never recorded. After working with other musicians for over 20 years,he was excited to write record, and produce everything himself, with no outside influences. Passages contains a wide range of styles, that take you through smooth rock rythms,to up tempo latin grooves. Using acoustic and electric guitars, you will hear Tim's unique musical ability.

Lake is an eclectic folksinger, never getting too bogged down in questions of authenticity. On the opening cut, he borrows from rollicking gospel, while the follow-up, "It's You," sounds like a lazy bit of blues or jazz from the 1920s, ...
