Jackie Leven Biography
Scottish singer/songwriter Artist began his recording career with the 1971 album CONTROL, which he made under the name John St. Field. For the next several years, he lived the life of a wanderer, but in the late `70s he formed Doll By Doll, a cult favorite that mixed the old (folk-rock, art rock) and the new (punk, new wave). In 1984 a violent attack rendered Leven unable to sing for an extended period, and subsequent drug problems delayed the start of his solo career for a decade. He finally released his solo debut in 1994; making up for lost time, Leven began releasing new material at a feverishly prolific rate.
