Leyendas Y Raices CD (2000)
LEYENDAS Y RAICES was nominated for a 1999 Grammy for Best Tejano Music Performance.
Freddie, Augustin, Sunny and Carlos drop a bundle of Mexican joy with the self-titled LEYENDAS Y RAICES. Carefully sculpted by producer Hugo Guerrero, these singers put all of the fun in this collection of Nortenos old and new. Refreshing keyboard harmonies and melodies provided by Mr. Guerrero meet gladly with uplifting accordeon work and timeless declarations of love by "the boys." Each one takes a turn at the mic on the opening medley, the sugary classic "Reina De Mi Amor" gliding on a bluer note into the solitude of "Tres Ramitas." A relaxing recording that makes yesterday's violin-washed memories more glorious with each listen.
