Come and See Come and See CD (2010)

Flatirons music CDs "Come and See" was born out of a sense of urgency. Urgency to spread the fame and renown of the God we worship. Urgency to give people a way to engage with our God through the songs we sing on the weekends while they are in their cars, running on treadmills and sitting in their kitchens. Urgency to express the way we worship in a way that other who haven't been a part of a flatirons worship experience could at least get a taste of what it's like. Most of all though, this album became an expression of our desire to worship in a way that James 1:27 describes as "pure and faultless". That worship is taking care of the poor, the oppressed and the helpless. So at every turn this album of us "singing songs" have been accompanied by not only directing our thoughts and prayers to the widows and orphans of our world, but our hands, feet, time, resources and finances, as well. Our hope is that as you listen to the songs you will be challenged to do the same. about flatirons community churchflatirons is a community of ordinary people ...
Prayer Bones Prayer Bones CD (1999)
CD Check Availability  Details
Flatirons discography This Portland quartet is a touch more stylized and "professional"-sounding than most of indie alt-country label Checkered Past's esteemed, rough-and-ready roster. Like Tarnation and the late, lamented Jody Grind, the Flatirons make use of cool, smokey female vocals and American roots-oriented songforms in service of a dark, subtle vision. As articulated on PRAYER BONES, that vision encompasses elegant folk-rock ("Heaven Help You"), desolate, minor-key ballads ("So Lonesome," "Devil Lives in Dallas") and more than a touch of postmodern country. The production is spare and straightforward, allowing distinctive vocalist Wendy Pate and the ominous mood of the arrangements to take center stage. The Flatirons: Wendy Pate (vocals); Jason Okamoto, Scott Weddle (guitar); Matt Voth (bass); Richard Cuellar (drums).
