And So On And So On CD (1998)
CD $13.79 Buy It  Details
Longfellow albums Hailing from Placentia, CA, this five piece has been crafting its unique blend of melodic emo rock/punk for over five years. The band met while in high school and formed soon thereafter. They spent the first few years selling out of their home made demos. They played many local venues and established a large and loyal fan base in Orange County. They went on to finance and produce their first full length album, "We're Huge In Japan," which sold more than 1,500 copies locally. They soon caught the attention of punk rock legends, Joe Escalante and Warren Fitzgerald of the Vandals. Joe and Warren decided to sign them to their successful indie label, Kung Fu Records. This collaboration produced their next full length, "And So On...". The new album has received critical acclaim: "The music is definitely good. Tight, aggressive, poppy punk, with some Avail and Samiam-type parts thrown in to keep it from getting too one-dimensional. Well thought-out and executed with true punk energy. This is pop-punk I can actually listen to."-Maximum Rock n Roll. Recording information: F-L Studios; Stall #2. Longfellow includes: Tom Schmitt (vocals); Mike Doherty (guitar). Personnel: Mike Doherty, Tony Warner (guitar).

Take Warning: Songs of Operation Ivy Take Warning: Songs of Operation Ivy CD (1997) 1 stars
CD Check Availability  Details
Longfellow CD discography A decade after the inception of seminal ska-revival, an impressively diverse roster of bands endeavors to doff their alternative/punk/speed-reggae hats to Berkeley's Operation Ivy. Whiffs of the musically mod from rap to neo-swing are present, from Reel Big Fish's yelling-in-the-street-sound on "Unity" to "Sound System," by the hip militia, Cherry Poppin' Daddies. The indecipherable lyrics and long-held notes on My Superhero's "Big City" don't duplicate the frenzied vocals on the original version, although Pocket Lent's pristine "Bankshot" is a suitably energetic, simplistic sample of what made Ivy a sensation. We assume ...
