Mary Lee's Corvette albums Mary Lee's Corvette was pretty gutsy when the band decided to cover Bob Dylan's 1975 classic, Blood on the Tracks, one September evening in 2001. Frontwoman Mary Lee Kortes wasn't entirely sure she wanted to go through with it, but lucky for listeners she did. What happened that evening was a magical turn of events at Arlene's Grocery in New York City. Kortes, who's vocally reminiscent of Maria McKee, proved to herself that she had what it took to pay tribute to her favorite artist without sounding too much like Mr. Dylan. Naturally, she was nervous, but the instrumentation of Mary Lee's Corvette didn't let that be known. Once the band kicked into the eight-minute rendition of "Idiot Wind," Mary Lee's Corvette soared into the night with a heavy disposition.
