 Meshuggah Biography
Experimentally minded Swedish death metal outfit Artist (Yiddish for "crazy") debuted with 1991's CONTRADICTIONS COLLAPSE, mixing the punk-influenced grind of death metal with a more eclectic and unruly edge. Over the course of a lengthy but not especially prolific career, their music has grown ever more complex, adding touches of highly technical progressive rock fusion and spacey psychedelia on albums like DESTROY ERASE IMPROVE and NOTHING.
