Rodeo Carburettor CD discography Rocking and reeling along the lines paved by bands like Guitar Wolf, the exciting, polished and intense Japanese trio Rodeo Carburettor shine on the leadoff song that rumbles along as if it was a B-side by the White Stripes or the Black Keys. The fact it has a great chorus is almost an afterthought when the rockabilly-based rhythm section shows its chops. The same style is revisited often, especially during the aptly titled "I Love R&R" that has some great guitar riffs throughout. And this is just the start of a string of fist-pumping, knee-rattling punk-meets-garage rock jewels that feature the fabulous "Taxi Driver." Meanwhile, the band churn out another guitar-fueled wall of fever with the infectious and tight "Mink Oil" and the hectic, punchy and relentless "Bonnie." The trio, led by singer and guitarist Takeshi Kaji, rarely stray from this frenetic blueprint, with another meaty slab of great rock & roll coming down the pipe during "R.B.B. (Rude Boy Bob)" which is the album's highlight. It's like choosing between children, though, as each number hits all the right spots, whether it's a rock-affirming "8" or the closing "Motor Head."
