EP CD (2004)
Skylab albums People believe that Miami has no local music scene, and that its contribution to the world of music lies within the boundaries of its dance clubs in South Beach. However, beyond the neon lights of Lincoln Road and the glow sticks of club kids, and deep within the suburbs, were four young men with the desire to make great rock music. Their paths would soon cross by a chance meeting that would be the catalyst to create what would later become Skylab.
In 2000, Nelson Morales attended A Perfect Circle concert where he met Alex Angel, a high school acquaintance. In their conversation, they found a common ground in the direction and energy they wanted to take in creating their own music; then the concert ended. Later that year Nelson ran into Alex at a bar, and the conversation picked up right where it left off. It was fate.
They began to form a group by distributing flyers to local music stores seeking a guitarist and vocalist. Charlie Hill answered the call for guitarist, and after several jam sessions at a studio, decided to join Alex and Nelson. The three musicians then auditioned several singers for two months, and their search ended when Dave Young responded to the same ad as Charlie in February 2003.
With all the elements in place, Skylab was ready to create their own brand of moving alternative rock. They began touring allover South Florida, winning multiple battle of the bands and garnering local support.

#1 CD (1994)
Skylab discography Skylab is a collaboration between four individuals: Howie "B," a formidable engineer, producer, and remixer who has worked with everyone from Sinead O'Connor to Soul II Soul; Mat Ducasse, something of a freelance sample collector, and the Japanese DJ team of Toshi and Kudo. Musically, Skylab focus on ambient soundscapes that are often anchored to mid-tempo beats and layered with samples. When there are vocals, they are of the wordless variety.
All of the tracks are fascinating in some way or another. "Depart" features slippery, metallic beats, wobbly bass, ...

Side Effects CD (2002)
Skylab CD discography A veritable tsunami of dance grooves, heavy guitar textures, dream pop melodies, and celebratory wordplay, Skylab expertly emerges as direct descendent of the Madchester explosion, tracing their proud aural lineage to the Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, and Charlatans UK. Though the lads punctuate the arrangements with scattered electronic samples, this is a big British guitar band, pure and simple. The hooks, neo-psychedelic harmonies, and whirling counterpoint are deftly executed and composed as they hit their mark ...

Red Hot + Rhapsody: The Gershwin Groove CD (1998)
Skylab CD discography 1990's RED HOT + BLUE, the first release in a justly celebrated series of ongoing AIDS benefit projects, featured provocative postmodern interpretations of Cole Porter songs. It makes sense then that the series returns to its roots, so to speak, with this contemporary George Gershwin tribute, maybe the best of the lot and certainly apropos during the composer's centennial.
Present are a motley crew of artists, some well-known (Natalie Merchant, Sinead O'Connor, David Bowie), some not so ...
