This Perfect Day CD (1995)
This Perfect Day music CDs Like the U.S. debuts by their fellow Swedes the Cardigans and the Wannadies, the self-titled album by This Perfect Day is a compilation of tracks from the band's previous Swedish-only releases. However, unlike the dark-tinged and continental Cardigans or the edgier, noisier Wannadies, This Perfect Day makes unapologetically glossy pop heavily influenced by the band's British contemporaries, primarily Blur and early Oasis. Singer Mats Eriksson has a classic Britpop voice, and the catchy, occasionally anthemic songs sound both instantly appealing and eerily familiar. Highlights include the brilliant opener "Teenage Monster," the sly "Jesus on Your Side," and the six-minute rave-up "Everybody Knows," which closes the album on a triumphant high. A few tracks, most notably "Headache," are remixes of the original Swedish releases.
Recording information: MNW Studios.
Unknown Contributor Role: Ove Markstrom.
Personnel: Mats Eriksson (vocals); Johan Nilsson (acoustic guitar, keyboards, percussion, background vocals); Ove Markstrom (electric guitar, harmonica, background vocals); Rickard Johansson (electric guitar, background vocals); Örjan Högberg, Mattias Helldén, Sabastian Oberg, Sebastian Öberg (strings); Perfect Day (recorder); Peter Fahlgren (bass guitar); Ralph Tjarnlund (drums).
Audio Mixers: Adam Kviman; Johan Nilsson; Rickard Johansson; Waldemar Kalling; Bobby Z.

C-60, This Perfect Day's second U.S. release, is unapologetically glossy pop that's heavily influenced by the band's British contemporaries, primarily Blur and early Oasis. Singer Mats Eriksson has a classic Brit-pop voice, and the catchy, occasionally anthemic songs ...
