Beyond the Biosphere is one of the greatest debut albums yet. The Webb Brothers' first offering is instantly accessible through its pop/rock edge, yet, by being a multi-genre album, never loses its appeal. The Super Furry Animals-esque title track "Beyond the Biosphere" sets the LP rolling. The melodic verse leads into the Brian Eno style anthemic chorus, and makes for one of the catchiest songs on the 11-track album. Musically, the Webb Brothers and their backing musicians are solid and capable, although never flashy.
