Family Vinyl LP (1996)
Satchel music CDs 180 gram repressing of Stevie's 1984 album. Includes 11 bonus tracks never before released on vinyl. All tracks remastered
Since it would be almost impossible to top their vastly underrated 1994 debut, EDC, Satchel tried a different approach on their 1996 follow-up, The Family. The overproduction that actually helped the debut (a rare case) is stripped away, replaced by simplicity and economy courtesy of producers Stone Gossard and Matt Wallace. There's also a greater emphasis on early-'70s Elton John-esque ballads, with an occasional rocker inserted -- the complete opposite of their debut's setup. The uptempo, irresistible pop of "Without Love" deserved to be Satchel's breakthrough hit, but instead was ignored. Still, there's an abundance of strong tracks, like the opening melancholia of "Isn't That Right," the creepy ...

Edc CD (1994)
Satchel discography Simply put, Satchel's debut album, EDC, is '90s alterna-rock at its finest and most original. Leaving the then-popular grunge sound at the door, Satchel embarks on a new musical style, combining gentle ballads and near-metal rockers with drum loops, guitar heroics, and ultra-talented Shawn Smith's high-pitched vocals and piano. Shards of Prince's funk, Queen's grandeur, and Led Zeppelin's almighty heavy groove come bubbling to the surface, but the band incorporates these already established elements into their own sound. The album is loosely based on the then-little-known movie Reservoir Dogs, ...

Balls Out CD (2011) Top Seller
Satchel CD discography Whether or not you're a fan of Steel Panther's ridiculously over the top glam metal, you have to appreciate their dedication. For a comedy rock band, they manage to tell a joke with a surprisingly straight face, jamming out sleazy hair metal in a way that is equal parts caricature and homage. With the band's pedigree lying with acts like L.A. Guns and Fight, it's not really a surprise that Balls Out is such a spot-on tribute to the excess of that bygone era, coming from people who were ...

Feel the Steel CD (2009) Top Seller
Satchel albums Like Spinal Tap and several other acts before it, Steel Panther found success mocking the excesses of `80s hair metal while accurately re-creating the genre's musical style. The Los Angeles-based, wig n' spandex-clad quartet delivered a particularly low-brow take on the mock-metal genre with its debut album FEEL THE STEEL. With groan-inducing, intentionally politically incorrect song titles such as "Asian Hooker," "Fat Girl," and "Eatin' Ain't Cheatin'," the disc may not be the most clever entry into the comedy rock sweepstakes but it is one of the most authentic-sounding, ...
