Donna Hopkins Band albums Alabama native Donna Hopkins began her musical career at the age of 14 and has never looked back. Her musical history is deeply rooted in gospel, blues, and bluegrass. "My mother was a singer and my grandfather was a preacher with a haunting and powerful singing voice," says Hopkins. "It was really like blues to me." Carrying on this musical legacy, she has taken it to a new level, playing lead, rhythm, and slide guitar.
