Last Crack CD discography Those who don't understand heavy metal might think that melody and forcefulness automatically cancel each other out, but for a lot of headbangers, that's hardly the case. Metal acts ranging from Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and King Diamond to Black Sabbath, Candlemass, and Ronnie James Dio have made it clear that rich melodies and brute force can be a powerful combination. Burning Time points to the fact that, like those artists, Last Crack are metal musicians who really knows how to combine naked aggression with a love of melody. Last Crack's music is quite risk-taking -- though this ambitious CD brings to mind Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Queensr˙che, there are times when Burning Time also makes one think of U2. Obviously, U2 is far from being a metal band, but Buddo's lead vocals do have a Bono quality, and some of Last Crack's melodies share similarities -- if U2's "Bullet the Blue Sky" was turned into a metal song, it might come out sounding something like "Down Beat Dirt Messiah" or "Energy Mind." Regrettably, Last Crack's risk-taking spirit didn't translate into commercial success, but Burning Time is highly recommended to those who are seeking something fresh and interesting from metal. ~ Alex Henderson Last Crack's debut, Sinister Funkhouse #17, shocked the press and opened the eyes of critics. It's controversial cover art and epic songs had everyone asking, "What will they do next?" That question would be answered with new songs, a new album, and a new producer - Dave Jerden ...

The CD was originally released on Diamond Records in Belgium and never released in the United States until now. It marks the band's first US release since 1991's epic BURNING TIME. Re-released on Ri¶kker Records in August of 2002 in the US. visit lastcrack for more info

Last Crack began in the fall of 1987. They were signed to Roadrunner/Roadracer records soon after, and released their first album, Sinister Funkhouse #17, to controversial fanfare and press due to singer Buddo appearing naked in an archers pose in front of a wall of dripping blood. Their next album, Burning Time, was released in 1991 and was produced by Dave Jerden (Janes Addiction, Alice In Chains). The album was selling excellent, poised for success, climbing the charts and garnering respect in the industry. But just as suddenly as they appeared, they disappeared due to a management breakup that lead to band breakup. That terrible breakup lead to the creation ...
