T-Model Ford Biography
Bluesmen don't come any more authentic than Artist. Born in the late 1920s, the Mississippi singer and guitarist didn't make his recording debut until he was well into his seventies. His musical career has been considerably longer, however, frequently interrupted by numerous jail stints, one for murder. Ford has mellowed only slightly with age, performing a primitive yet arresting guitar-and-drums-based repertoire that draws on compositions by such contemporaries as Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters, as well as his own songs, all sung in a hoarse, menacing snarl that's as serious as a heart attack.
