Salome DVDs (2008)
Mattila albums The Metropolitan Opera mounted this 2008 production of Richard Strauss's 1905 Salome, with a cast that includes Karita Mattila in the title role, Joseph Kaiser as Narraboth, Kim Begley as Herod and Ildikó Komlósi as Herodias. Jürgen Flimm designed the production, Santo Loquasto created the sets and costumes, and Doug Varone choreographed., with Barbara Willis Sweete directing for the stage. The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Chorus and Ballet lend support under the baton of Patrick Summers, with Donald Palumbo serving as chorus master.
Karita Mattila stars in this Metropolitan Opera production of the Strauss opera conducted by Patrick Summers.
