Sarina Paris CD (2001)
The self-titled debut album of Sarina Paris introduces a dance-music diva in the making. While her music incorporates pop, R&B, and more, Paris's music is aimed straight at the dance floor, designed to shake the rafters at clubs the world over. Her sweet, winsome vocals ride easily atop house beats, accessible melodic hooks, and enough electro-pop synth lines to make Mirwais blush. While the album takes the occasional detour into romantic balladry (see her version of Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors," Sarina's approach mainly centers on bouncy rhythms, percolating riffs, and a good-time feel guaranteed to bring a smile to even the most dour countenance.
