Sloper CD (1996)
An Emotional Fish CD discography The disappearance of An Emotional Fish was one of the great disappointments of the '90s. Their stunning debut was disliked by the critics but adored by the band's fans. Junk Puppets (1993) was somewhat of a disappointment, as the band took a detour into glam rock and away from the Doors-like dream rock of their debut. Sloper was somewhat of a return to the form of 1992's self-titled album, melodic and haunting. Professionally, it was too little too late; the U.S. release of the album was two years after it hit in the U.K. Standout tracks include "Aeroplanes," with a beautiful slide guitar and Kate Bush-like backing vocals. The U.K. version of Sloper was released in 1994 and includes two tracks unavailable on the U.S. version: "Leoncavallo" and "It Belongs to the World." The U.S. version has a song not on the U.K. release, "Strange Things." The difference in tracks is likely to get American fans to buy an album they may already have on import. However, the import might be the favorite version of Sloper. Overall, the album should be more popular with An Emotional Fish devotees than Junk Puppets. Worth searching for. ~ JT Griffith

Junk Puppets CD (1993)
An Emotional Fish albums Junk Puppets is full of spit, sass, and melodies - at times An Emotional Fish sound like U2's black-sheep cousin; at others, the tracks are chock full of wonderful, cavity-inducing glam rock strokes - "Careless Child" being the perfect tribute to the legacy of Marc Bolan and T Rex. Like the Junk Puppets of the title, An Emotional Fish scrounge bits of epic pop, psychedelia, funk, and electro-dance and scatter them on the display ...

Celebrate CD (1990)
An Emotional Fish music CDs This is the first CD single from An Emotional Fish's 1990 debut album. It includes the LP version, an extended version, and three B-sides. "Celebrate" is a solid song from the LP and is the most rocking one on the set. A live version would have fit in well on this single. Sadly, listeners are left with the extended version which, though nearly a minute longer, only repeats a bridge and a chorus from the song. And listeners are stuck with a live version of "Jonathan and Doodle Pip" (recorded at SFX) which is the An Emotional Fish take on "Daddy's gonna buy you a diamond ring." This track actually would fit in better on their second LP, Junk Puppets, but, as it is, the track sounds like a bad outtake from U2's Salome: The Achtung Baby Sessions. Yikes. "Brick ...

An Emotional Fish CD (1990)
An Emotional Fish discography The disappearance of An Emotional Fish was one of the great disappointments of the 1990s. Released in September of 1990, An Emotional Fish likely was a victim of the Rattle and Hum era U2 backlash. Though released through Atlantic, the band's first singles were on U2's Mother Records label. That, and their Dublin roots, made the band an easy target for critics. But the album was filled with some wonderful melodic rock songs. "Blue," "Lace Virginia," "Celebrate," and "Julian" were strong songs. The CD version included one extra track, "Move On." Sadly, the band's music changed after their debut (possibly as a reaction to a critical backlash). A great debut album from a band that never again reached such heights. Perhaps a testament to its quality is how incredibly hard to find An Emotional Fish is, meaning fans are unwilling ...
