Another Fine Day albums Another Fine Day is Tom Green, who utilizes several instruments, electronic processing of found sounds, and computer software to fashion an elegant variant of ambient music. Whereas the first Another Fine Day album LIFE BEFORE LAND was comfortingly spacy and abstract, SALVAGE is much more immediate and varied. Green constructs lush, melodious soundscapes that are delicate without being fey and rhythmic without slipping into faceless dance-grooves. "Twisted Standards" has charming jazz-tinged piano, recalling the '60s recordings of Horace Silver and Vince Guaraldi (the latter of whom wrote the music for the PEANUTS cartoons), set over a matrix of rainforest percussion. "Urban Fox" features twanging, mysterious plucked strings, tabla, bubbling electronics, and a gently insistent cadence that brings to mind both the forbidding jungle and an urban pastoral. SALVAGE is ethnically oriented chill-out music for those who like ambient instrumentals that avoid the blandness that often plagues the genre. Recorded in London, England.
