 9TH Wonder Biography
Hip-hop producer Artist (Pat Douthit) formed Little Brother with classmates Phonte and Big Pooh. Their debut, the well-received The Listening, was released in 2003, and Artist began to receive further attention after he remixed Nas' 2002 album, God's Son (retitled God's Stepson), and produced Jay-Z's "Threat." Work with Murs, Buckshot, Jean Grae, Destiny's Child, and Mary J. Blige followed, as well as another Little Brother album, The Minstrel Show (2005), the same year his proper solo debut, Dream Merchant, Vol. 1, came out. In 2007, Artist left Little Brother and spent his time producing for Erykah Badu and Sean Price. He also collaborated with Boot Camp Clik's Buckshot for The Formula, released in 2008. ~ Marisa Brown
