Founded in 1997, Ensemble POLARIS explores new perspectives on music from the Scandinavian anc Baltic countries, Scotland and Canada, as well as original, Nordic-inspired repertoire. All highly respected musicians in their own right, the members of the band bring an extraordinary range of musical sensibilities and skills to this collaboration.
POLARIS has performed at numerous Canadian venues and has been heard on CBC radio, Radio-Canada, PBS and the BBC. 'Midnight Sun' is the band's first CD, which has met with international acclaim from critics and fans alike, including a rating as a 'Disc of the Month' in the August 2000 issue of Classic CD Magazine (UK).
