Movin On CD (2002)
Joe Robinson discography TAlk about jazz in Winston-Salem and Joe Robinson's name immediately come to mind, hitched along with a cooler than cool echo of Miles Davis' smooth, vibrato-less timber of trumpet.
Robinson was a musical fixture at the now sadly defunct jazz spot The Cellar, and many a weekend night, you ...

Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 CD (1995) Top Seller
Joe Robinson songs Liason's 1995 greatest-hits release for Rare Essence compiles many of the 12" and album mixes that were anthems on the Washington, D.C., go-go circuit throughout the '80s. Hour of Bewilderbeast CD (2000)
Joe Robinson music CDs Beginning with the utterly gorgeous, string-laden "The Shining," the album takes a sharp turn into lo-fi rock with "Everybody's Stalking," eventually moving on to the melancholy folk of "Stone on the Water," the shimmering jazz-pop of "Once Around the Block," and the delirious funk of "Disillusion." Although Gough ...

Hour Of The CD (2000)
Joe Robinson discography Garnering Britain's coveted Mercury Prize in 2000, THE HOUR OF BEWILDERBEAST announced the arrival of Badly Drawn Boy (AKA Damon Gough), the most gleefully eccentric singer/songwriter the UK had seen in decades. With his ever-present multi-colored knit cap, loopy stage presence, and an arsenal of beautifully ramshackle songs, ...

Eugene CD (1989)
Joe Robinson CD discography Unusually for his concerts with large ensembles, Braxton not only conducts, but also plays alto saxophone. He's rarely the focus of these performances, however, barring a stunning solo on "Composition 112"; Braxton's style for large groups usually involves giving individual members small solo passages in quick succession. The results are like an eddying sea of sound, where one player briefly pops to the surface for a few bars before submerging again into the tumult. These performances are powerful and often fascinating.
/The Northwest Creative Orchestra.
Recorded at Beall Hall, University Of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon on January 31, 1989. Includes liner notes by Mike Heffley.
Recorded at the University of Oregon on January 31, 1989, with an ensemble created especially for this occasion called the Northwest Creative Orchestra, EUGENE (1989) functions rather like a Greatest Hits survey for Anthony Braxton. These eight tracks are mostly new interpretations of pieces Braxton wrote in the mid-to-late-'80s, many originally performed by much smaller groups than the 17-member Northwest creative Orchestra.
Personnel: Anthony Braxton (conductor, alto saxophone); Rob Blakeslee, John Jensen, Ernie Carbajal (trumpet); Ed Kammerer, Tom Hill, Mike Heffley (trombone); Mike Vannice (reeds, piano); Thom Bergeron, Jeff Homan, Carl Woideck, Mike Curtis (reeds); Charles ...
