Following in the footsteps of Dirty Vegas, Tom Middleton, Tim "Love" Lee, Saint Etienne, Snow Patrol, Jarvis Cocker & Steve Mackey and Joey Negro, Family Recordings presents "The Triptych", a comprehensive and thoroughly enjoyable mix CD from half of the Lemon Jelly duo, Fred Deakin. Part of the ever-excellent series, "The Trip", this is by far their most ambitious release to datet. Devoid of genre bias or the latest fad to latch on to, "The Triptych" consists of 90 (thatís nine zero) tracks lovingly mined from Fredís vast record collection and then mixed to perfection over three discs for your listening pleasure. The design is all by Deakin and it includes a 20 page booklet with a note from Deakin on why he chose every single track on the album. DJ: Fred Deakin. Audio Mixer: Fred Deakin. Liner Note Author: Fred Deakin.

Fred Deakin and Nick Franglen compiled their first three EPs of fizzy chill-out for those late-night lava lamp staring sessions. It's downtempo for the acid generation, an eschewing of popular prÍt-ŗ-porter after-hour aesthetics. You wouldn't catch many an icily cool dance group writing songs of slow-motion fascist mamba marches ("Homage to Patagonia"), universal U.K. garage meditations ("Page One"), or Edward Scissorhands sipping cocktails at Eighteenth Street Lounge Music ("His Majesty King Raam"). Perhaps a good thing. ~ Dean Carlson Very cool collection of their now out of print UK 10 inch singles which originally ...

Fred Deakin music CDs "Come Down to Me," the first song on electronica duo Lemon Jelly's third full-length album, begins with a massive guitar sound crashing heavily over a shuddering drum loop and weaving synth patterns. The fusion is indicative of Lemon Jelly's mix-and-match aesthetic. On '64-'95, Fred Deakin and Nick Franglen thread acoustic and electric guitars, strings, heady keyboard melodies, meaty bass parts, and a staggering array of eclectic samples through grooves and beats derived from hip-hop, soul, techno, and house. The result is a whiplash melange of styles that ...

Fred Deakin CD discography British ambient duo Lemon Jelly debuted in a big way with the successful LEMONJELLY.KY, but as that was really a collection of their early EPs, LOST HORIZONS is their proper debut album. As such, it's a fully formed sonic statement that maintains the warm, accessible sound that is the Lemon Jelly trademark, while mixing in a variety of other elements. Amid the sunny tinkling and mellow murmurs are snatches of spoken word, syncopated jazz loops, straight-up dance beats, and touches of crackly glitchtronica. Following their last amazing journey, ...
