Candle CD discography Read My Sign leads off with "Hurry Up," a throbbing track whose opening suggests Frankie Goes to Hollywood covering The Who's "Eminence Front." The German trio mostly sounds like an alternative-edged Roxette. Like that band, there is something insidiously catchy about songs like the optimistic stomp of the title track and the breezy-sounding "Heyo." Lead singer Jana Gross' vocals could have been lifted from a Cranberries record, which suits the music well. Slower numbers like the solemn, moving "Imagine," with its anthemic chorus, and the Celtic-tinged march "Rescue Me" work every bit as well. The lyrics are long on affairs of the heart and Gross' delivery manages to give them mileage when they become trite.
