Float CD (1998)
Channel 23 albums Channel 23 calls their music Tryptafunk. It is a blend of heavy soul, funk, dub, rock, tryp-hop and hard bop, performed by some of San Francisco's most potent musicians. The band is fronted by Eenor who also played with The Les Claypool Frog Brigade. Memorable vocal songs remain the focus of this cd, however it is peppered with some experimental flavors, and ripping instrumentals. Recorded on all tube gear, the sound is full, raw, and fat. Running at 66:30, with 17 tracks you get over an hour of one of San Francisco's most innovative groups.
Recorded at Contopolou Studios and Stout Recording Studios, San Francisco, California.
Channel 23: Eenor (vocals, guitar, synthesizer); Kimo (guitar, synthesizer, bass, background vocals); Brendan (flute, saxophone, background vocals); Phil ...
