Collage CD (2007)
Everpresent CD discography Everpresent returns in 2007 with "Collage"! This release marks a definite change in direction away from the underground-dark-rock sound of the groups first 2 releases and Dvd, and ventures into more pop/electro territory, with elements of soul and R+B mixed in with more "space" and lighter sound.
Matthew Cahoon takes a turn towards more sparse arrangements and lighter, more subtle keyboard and percussion nuances, as his voice expands to accomodate more soulful melodies.
Matt O'Gwin returns and also shows a different side of his guitar abilities--laying down textured chordal patterns that mesh with Cahoon's more sparse keyboard lines. A distinct element of fusion and blues is added by O'Gwin's contribution, but of course, on the live performance of "You Need This-Kick Mix"-O'Gwin delivers his signature lead guitar solos that make him stand out as well.
Aspacia brings a smooth soul style to the female vocal parts, and her sensual phrasings compliment Matthew's voice as well as the rhythm arrangements of the songs.
Aharon Verno makes his presence known as the live drummer on the two live tracks, "Dusty Shoes" and "You Need This-Kick Mix" with his signature rock solid beats.
Matthew Cahoon and Steve Catizone of Sanctum Sound provide a "break" instrumental remix of Elusive, leading up to the highly kinetic Modified Mix of "Urgency" by Galvanax...which truly takes the song to a whole new level. Kenny P. of the Bean Music also has contributed a very unique and unplugged Organic remix of "Euphoria".
