Dimstar CD (2003)
Full songs They call it avant chamber rock, and while throughout Dimstar Full often comes off faux jazzy, slick, and too deliberate, beneath the surface this record is really a masterful cross of early solo Björk somnambulance, India.Arie soul, and utopian Tortoise-ized post-Disneyland sounds. Funky bachelor pad music for the future? The crisp beats and gurgling, sparkling programming on tracks like "One/0/7" would suggest so -- and there are vibraphones and trumpets in full effect (Stereolab for the club kids). The band does slip into downbeat trip-hop reminiscent of Hooverphonic at times ("Been Had"), but mostly Full is too diverse for the old genre tag to stick. There is a lot of downright skillful experimentation on Dimstar (mostly in terms of mixing electronics and traditional instrumentation), but the album hardly sounds experimental. To those who like their experimental music on the noise side, this will seem like a flaw. But, Full has managed to make complex, shifting, and what should be difficult music sound like pure pop. It's a recipe that's destined for the big time. ~ Charles Spano
Music is always more important than biography, and what really matters is that great music gets made, not who makes it. We're about the sound, first and always, slathering texture onto ...

Liberation CD (2007)
Full CD discography Clever lyrics (in Japanese and English), and a melodic but fast 'n' nasty approach to songs has been Nicotine's reliable formula since 1993, and this 2007 release doesn't stray far from what has made them one of Japan's most popular punk-pop bands. A jovial, fun album, LIBERATION will appeal to latter-day punks and fans of Rancid and Green Day.
Nicotine: Shunp, Howie (vocals, guitar); Full (bass guitar, background vocals); Naoki (background vocals).
Personnel: Naoki (drums).
Additional personnel: 610chang (guitar).

Samurai Shot CD (2002)
Full music CDs The (tenth?) album from this talented Tokyo punk outfit finds them continuing to mine the rich vein of polished, high-speed rock & roll in which they've been digging since the early '90s. Fans of NOFX and Bad Religion will find much to love here, and although Nicotine's lyrics are sometimes unintentionally hilarious -- here's a sample couplet from "We Are Ready to Rock": "Bra bra bra bra bra bra bra bra/Take it away hey girls baby!" -- their solid chops, unflagging ...
