Postlude CD (2012)
Haunted West music CDs Artist is excited to announce the release of their first full-length LP, Postlude (HWR002). The album is the Wooster, Ohio band's second release on independent label, Artist Records, and is a follow up to their 2007 self-titled debut EP (HWR001). The origins of Artist can be traced to the band's high school days, when they were organizing and playing shows at the Wooster Parks and Recreation Chalet and junior high gymnasium. After a migration to California, fulfilling a few dreams and working out some musical nightmares, these musicians branded themselves "Artist" and began recording their sounds. Grande's existential musings play off tales about contemporary supernatural characters, extraterrestrials and poltergeists, all intertwined with a dark, Old Testament imagery. He is backed by his rhythm section, bassist Taylor Carmer and drummer Jack McFadden, with guitarists Jeremy Wierwille and Derek Walls providing the rest of the noise. Together they create a rather thoughtful music, blanketed by layers of sonic textures, buzzes, feedbacks and field noises. Artist has been playing live shows in the San Francisco area since 2003, including special appearances at Studio Z, the Voodoo Lounge and the Odeon. They will resume playing live shows in support of Postlude in 2013.
