Miles Helm: Scared Old Planet Preceded by the modern and classic rock styling of Miles Helm's debut album, Brave New World, Scared Old Planet introduces a sound all its own with a combination of heavy dance grooves, dark chordal modes, industrial techno and rock instrumentation with modern low end. Also featured is a mixture of live and sequenced rhythms, with melodic guitar, keyboard, and vocal orchestrations. Scared Old Planet is a musical adventure into the mindset of the twenty-first century human. Throughout history, fear, sensuality, and deception have been instrumental tools humans use to control or manipulate one another. Examples range from the lyrics of a simple nursery rhyme to public hangings, home alarm systems, concealed weapons, and world war This place we call Earth has certainly become a Scared Old Planet! Although the concept sounds to be one of doom and gloom, the lyrical content and spiritual message is one of hopefulness for the future, and possible alternatives to this present way of life. With this concept CD, Miles Helm has aspirations of performing a theater stage production of this work using a combination of live band performance, actors, and theater production sets.
