Lavar's full name is Courtney Garland Lavar Taylor. He was born on May 30th, 1978 in Decatur, Illinois and raised in Columbia, Missouri. He was introduced to music at a young age. He has always set his musical goals at a high standard and feels that the release of his CD "4 the Luvas" is the beginning of his legacy. "4 the Luvas" was inspired by his past and present relationships to give his insight on the ups and downs of love. His genre is R&B and the majority of his music is "baby-making music," but he also has some songs that have a touch of rap in with the R&B. His favorite songs on the CD are "4 the Luvas," "Let's Talk About Love," "Mountain," and "Get Down." "4 the Luvas" is one of the very first songs Lavar produced and eventually became the title track of the CD. "Let's Talk About Love" was originally a fast song until he remixed it and slowed it down to make it a bedroom song. "Mountain" was inspired by a beautiful woman in his life. And "Get Down" Lavar believes is one of his best songs. Lavar is an artist/producer and co-owner of Royal-T Productions, his production company.
