Begin and start again....The neon lights came sprouting from the scorched wreckage like vines; twining and twisting as if alive.
From the ashes, dirt and clay was rebuilt the city of tall facades of marble and iron. and from among them rose the tower; much taller than what was before.
Now its spires scrape along the warm concrete underbelly of heaven and a crowd gathers to watch it spark like mid-summer fireworks.
Cathedrals, epistle 3: Millbrook's 3rd and final letter in a trilogy of EP's, is exactly what the title suggests that it might be; the glorious, epic, and grandiose finale'; the final broad stroke, flourish and long handed signature in the long overdue letter.
Cathedrals is the thunderous arrival as well as the triumphant exit. It is the cannons and streamers, the flinging open of doors, the hoisting above heads, the homecoming and the valediction.... and the defeat of defeatism. It has become the unveiling of what was thought never to be again.
