New Colony New Colony CD (2005)

MP3 $9.99 Buy It  Details
Rusty Nails music CDs This is the 5th release and 4th full-length of the Rusty Nails. Although the band broke up late in 2002, the entity still continues with the release of "The New Colony." Think of the soundtrack for 2001: A Space Odyssey fused with an Anachronistic Bagpipe Indie Rock Sound. For a quick history of the band, check out therustynails. net. At least half of the money will go towards a renewable energy fund. Here's to brighter horizons and a saner world! Cheers!!

Rusty Nails discography Oh, let's see. I could tell you the history and the trials and tribulations of the Alt Indie Rock Anachronistic Bagpipe entity known as "The Rusty Nails" and their 12 year existence of constant change and experimentation but I'll just let you visit the website for all the blasted details. What started as a raw rough rawk band with bagpipes eventually morphed into a much more experimental and introspective entity. Nonlocality is likely the final full length album (5th full-length and 6th release) which completes the minimum requirements to the universe and this entity's long internal/external journey. The "Nonlocality" CDs are typically pressed or manufactured CDs but the booklets I am cutting and folding myself. They are made from 100% recycled posterboard AND THE FIRST 10 COPIES SOLD WILL HAVE AN ORIGINAL PAINTING on it. It could make a nice mantlepiece! After the first 10 are sold, then I'll probably create some sort of sticker label or stamp or something. All of the CDs will contain a booklet with an interesting narrative inside. Cheers, Enjoy!

Rusty Nails CD discography Hailing from the lush moors of New Jersey, the Rusty Nails play some of the finest bagpipe-laden rock since AC/DC commandeered the instrument for one of rock's most famous song intros. While the bagpipes are obviously the first thing one notices about the Rusty Nails, surprisingly it doesn't seem gimmicky or contrived. Frontman/ bagpipe player/ Nails mastermind Brett Alexander Boye (such formal liner notes) is in fact a trained player, having done time in respected troupes, which means he plays the instrument with skill and respect -- very important, as few sounds are more painful than poorly played bagpipes. Other instruments, like the acoustic guitars of "Danny's Last Hurrah," add to the Scottish feel introduced by the bagpipes, but the Rusty Nails are also a decidedly rocking band. An unusual, interesting, and rather endearing balance of musical styles. While Boye released an album on his own (under the unappetizing moniker Haggis), this is his second outing with the Rusty Nails in tow (though it is still very clearly Boye's show). No Miracle in Ruins is an exceptionally well-produced slab of wax, especially considering that it was released through the very indie Coolidge Records, home of acts like Soccer, Lancaster County Prison, and Plow United. Forgoing the obligatory Pogues and Dropkick Murphys comparisons, the songs tend to come across as boisterous pub chants, fueled by Boye's unique vocals -- an affable mix of Mighty Mouse opera, Joy Division warble, and, well, ...
