Surrender Now CD (1997)
Onoffon music CDs From the very beginning of Surrender Now, Onoffon displays their ambitious cross-genre skills. Opening with a rumbling Von Babasin bassline, the title cut might be called jazz fusion were it not for Don Lake's wailing harmonica that cuts through the smooth, effortless music. When the airy vocals enter the picture, imparting vaguely mystical sentiments, it makes for something akin to new age jazz-rock. Very eerie, actually, but something that is unique and intriguing. That new age/jazz-rock mix is not wholly characteristic of Surrender Now. Jazz is certainly a beginning point for the band, but there is also a healthy dose of progressive rock influence and perhaps the slightest hint of blues. "Your Reality," too, shows psychedelic influences, particularly in the lyrics and Lake's slithery, snaking guitar work. Despite being a three-piece, Onoffon creates a dense and full canvas of sound, and their playing is complex and exciting. Babasin is nothing less than a virtuoso on bass, while Lake's guitar is tensive and spacy, making many of the songs, even those with lyrics, sound mysterious. Dave Goode's drumming builds a tricky and complicated foundation for the music ...

Bridge to Presage CD (2005)
Onoffon discography ONOFFON is finally back with their third release, "Bridge to Presage". 'Now for something completely different' should be the theme of this diverse and profound group of musicians. The core of ONOFFON is still built on the trio of Don Lake-guitars, Von Babasin-bass, and Dave Goode-drums, but the trio becomes a quintet on this latest release, adding the world class virtuosity of two gentlemen, saxman Glen Garrett, who doubles on flute, and pianist, Marcus Duke, as permanent members. There are also the addition of a couple of extremely talented guest musicians, Ron King on trumpet and flugelhorn, and Bob McChesney on trombone. Amazing production has become a trademark of ONOFFON and "Bridge to Presage" does not fail to deliver the superior sound quality that has won them International Online Music Award's 2005 "Artist of the Year" on the merits of their previous CD, "Your Mind". In fact, in the following year's event, "Bridge to Presage" was named IOMA's 2006 Best Album.
This CD is another hard right turn, also an ONOFFON trademark, and this time around is all instrumental. Displaying a totally unique sound, this collection of compositions can ...

Your Mind CD (1999)
Onoffon songs Following their amazing debut, 'Surrender Now' - this second album from ONOFFON really helps to define how diverse these guys are.
Starting with the intense title track, 'Your Mind', immediately followed by the serene, mystical instrumental, 'Shadowglass', this CD takes you on eleven different musical journeys.
Highlighted by excellent musicianship displayed by the usual trio of Don Lake, Von Babasin and Dave Goode, as well as their supporting musicians, the group also shows it's production qualifications.
Each song is a feast for the ears, especially through a good set of headphones. With the popularity of soundtrack CDs and compilation CDs rising every day, people are showing they like diversity in their music - why not get that diversity from the same group?
Check out ONOFFON, you might be surprised by what you hear.
Opening with some atonal scraping noise courtesy of what sounds like toy piano on the opening title cut, Onoffon make it known from the beginning that Your Mind is an entirely different animal from the band's first album. While its wonderful instrumental prowess and locked-down ensemble playing are still in place, Onoffon take a distinct left turn on Your Mind, ...
