Trampoline Trampoline CD (2008)
CD $15.39 Buy It  Details
Rhythm Merchant albums The Rhythm Merchant is the definition of DIY indie rock. After writing music on a limited basis for various rock and funk projects, Dave learned the bass, began writing songs for himself, and started The Rhythm Merchant. 2001 brought the release of the first cd, "In the Pocket." "I Think" and "Rollin Along" found their way onto college and web-based radio stations in the U. S and Europe. In 2002, the video for "Rollin Along" was featured in the New York International Independent Film Festival in Madison Square Garden. After learning a great deal about recording and promoting a band from the trial by fire that came with the first album, Dave started inDIY Records. The title of the 2004 release "One Man, a Bass, Some Drums and a Mic" tells a lot about the project. Dave Grammerstorf wrote, performed, and recorded all of the material on the cd. The current Rhythm Merchant lineup formed in 2004. Pat Dudgeon (bass) and Eric Arico (guitar) joined Dave in the band to bring the high-energy Rhythm Merchant material to the people. Fans are often caught off guard by the unorthodox live setup: Eric and Pat wail away next to Dave, who sings while standing behind his drum kit. You can catch The Rhythm Merchant live in venues throughout the New York metropolitan area, including Kenny's Castaways, Trash Bar, Blaggards Pub, The Alphabet Lounge, The Whiskey Bar, and Zoo City. The trio is on the verge of releasing Trampoline, due out on June 2008. This will be the first recording featuring all three members.

After the release of Album #1 in 2001, the singles "I Think" and "Rollin Along" found their way onto several college and web-based radio stations in the U. S and Europe. In In 2002, the video for "Rollin Along" was featured in the New York International Independent Film Festival in Madison Square Garden and the Sutton Theatre, where it played to a sold-out crowd and forced a second showing.
