Crazy Rhythms CDs (1980)
Feelies albums Bristling with that other often youthful sort of energy (nervous as opposed to sexual), the Feelies' CRAZY RHYTHMS is an overlooked/underrated masterpiece. The album is marked by Glen Mercer and Bill Million's furiously strummed guitars (both acoustic and electric), and propelled forward with some of the most primitive--yet outstanding--drumming since Moe Tucker, courtesy of Anton Fier. Off-kilter covers of the Beatles ("Everybody's Got Something to Hide (Except Me and My Monkey)") and the Rolling Stones ("Paint it Black," available only on the CD version) posit the New Jersey-based Feelies as a Garden State analog ...

Good Earth CDs (1986)
Feelies music CDs At the turn of the '80s, The Feelies were the quirkiest, most jittery, most over-caffeinated band on the New York/Hoboken pop scene. When they packed it in after the release of a sole album, 1980's CRAZY RHYTHMS, it was like they'd simply run out of steam.

Feelies songs The Feelies' first major-label album, ONLY LIFE was the high point for Feelies Mk. II, a revamped lineup that largely rejected the Devo-ish, wonderfully spastic geek-rock of their debut album for a warmer, more organic sound. Like its predecessor, THE GOOD EARTH, it features murmured vocals and gently insistent Velvet Underground-ish grooves bathed in layers of ...

Time For A Witness CD (1991)
Feelies CD discography The final Feelies album didn't change much in the way the band operated, but as a conclusion to the band's active days, it makes for a fine coda. Million and Mercer peel out some amazing frazzled solos, the rhythm section knows the virtues of raving it up and keeping the beat steady and flowing, and the ...

Psychedelic Seattle (1965-1969) CD (1980)
The final volume of the series has the most obscure tracks of the lot, and focuses more on the early psychedelic era than the previous installments. None of these were hits, and only the Sonics and the Kingsmen were widely known. However, it's also the least interesting of the three volumes, with little in the way ...
