New Pants CD (1989)
Flim & The BB's CD discography Jimmy Johnson (bass), Billy's Barber and Berg (keys, drums), and Dick Oatts (woodwinds) infuse their major label debut with more of the same distinctive, innovative improvisational textures which made their DMP platters so joyous and enlightening. They take a very fresh approach to the pop jazz format, drawing from mainstream influences to spruce up hooky and punchy melodies. The musicianship is predictably brilliant, with Barber's sweet acoustic and perky synth standing out above all the rest. Very unique post-fusion sound. Best cuts are "Invention," "Hot Town," "Flakey Jakey," and "Midnight Crossing." ~ Jonathan Widran
Additional personnel: Dick Oatts (woodwinds); Billy Barber (keyboards); Jimmy Johnson (bass); Bill Berg (drums); Mike Launder.

"Boogie Palace" and "Atosha" are highlights among the 11 tracks. A sense ...
