Kamnesia CD (2001)
Dresta albums Seven years after it originally appeared, Kam's exceptional but scandalously neglected third LP returns in this re-release on West Coast Mafia Records. KAMNESIA sees the L.A. lyricist going all out--preaching self-reliance, violent resistance, and revolution for the ghetto in his deep baritone flow like a radical West Coast version of Chuck D. While the content remains hardcore, Kam proves he can do smoothed-out hip-hop, too, sampling the dub standard "Bam Bam" and recruiting Dresta, Jayo Felony, Spider, and Yukmouth for the thorough posse cut, "They Like Dat." Ras Kass, DJ Pooh, and Mystic also make guest appearances.
Recorded at the Record Plant, Co-Stars Spot, Hollywood, California; Lithium, Ventura, California, Echo Sound, Los Feliz, California; Skip Saylor Studios, Los Angeles California.
Personnel includes: Kam, Big Solo, Spider, Dresta, Jayo Felony, Yuckmouth, Jazze Pha, Mystic, Spade, Ms. Red Bone.
Producers include: Jazze Pha, Jimmy "Klev" Juarez, DJ Pooh, Kip Collins, Wino.
