Up Sets CD (2009)
Chris Poulsen CD discography September 2008, the Chris Poulsen Trio recorded a live double album over two nights at a jazz club in Brisbane, Australia. The large, enthusiastic turnout for both nights made for a perfect environment for this intensely interactive group. Capturing the gig's positive vibe, this exciting new recording features two energetic sets of playful jazz/fusion - one disc for each set.
There's everything from fast swing, grooves in odd time, and hammond soul, even some eastern influences. Though quite varied and dynamic, the trio's original tunes (and one standard) all remain pretty 'up' beat throughout.

Reinventing a Lost Art CD (2003)
Chris Poulsen CD discography The album's title is a bit misleading, since Tokyo Rose (NJ) does little reinventing on its proper debut (not counting an amateurish EP the band put out on a tiny indie), but does an admirable job nonetheless flogging the same emotional pop-punk roots as many of the band's Sidecho peers. A promising beginning. ~ Brian O'Neill
Recorded at Portrait Studios, Lincoln Park, New Jersey between March & April 2003.
Tokyo Rose: Ryan Dominguez (vocals, guitar); Greg Doran (guitar); Chris Poulsen (bass); Jon Smith (drums).

Promise in Compromise CD (2007)
Chris Poulsen music CDs Does the world really need another sing-songy pop punk band with a melodic sweet tooth? Upon hearing the 2007 release by Tokyo Rose, The Promise in Compromise, the answer to this crucial question is a resounding "yes." The group -- currently comprised of Ryan Dominguez (vocals, guitar), Chris Poulsen (bass), and Jake Margolis (drums) -- follows the same recipe as countless other bands circa the early 21st century. If you need a check list (many can recite all the ingredients in their sleep by this point), this consists of punk energy, speedy tempos, anthemic choruses, and emo-esque song titles that could double as titles to poems red by a teen down at the local coffeehouse on open mic night ("The Promise in Compromise," "A Pound of Silver is Worth Its Weight in Blood," etc.). And what do you know, the group even pens a song about the pros and cons of accepting female fans' advances (the disco-fied "We Can Be Best Friends Tonight, But Tomorrow I'll Be..."). ~ Greg Prato
Tokyo Rose: Ryan Dominguez (guitar); Jake Margolis (drums); Chris Poulsen (background vocals).
