Chris Poulsen CD discography September 2008, the Chris Poulsen Trio recorded a live double album over two nights at a jazz club in Brisbane, Australia. The large, enthusiastic turnout for both nights made for a perfect environment for this intensely interactive group. Capturing the gig's positive vibe, this exciting new recording features two energetic sets of playful jazz/fusion - one disc for each set. There's everything from fast swing, grooves in odd time, and hammond soul, even some eastern influences. Though quite varied and dynamic, the trio's original tunes (and one standard) all remain pretty 'up' beat throughout.

If you need a check list (many can recite all the ingredients in their sleep by this point), this consists of punk energy, speedy tempos, anthemic choruses, and emo-esque song titles that could double as titles to poems red by a teen down at the local coffeehouse on open mic night ("The Promise in Compromise," "A Pound of Silver is Worth Its Weight in Blood," etc.).
