Marc Puricelli Discography of CDs
||Melting Point CD (1994) |
Marc Puricelli albums Marc Puricelli has a style influenced by Herbie Hancock to an extent but also shows traces of his own individuality. He wrote all 12 selections for his Music Masters CD (most of the melodic numbers utilize a light funk beat and are a bit poppish) and displays an accessible easy-listening style. However cellist Erik Friedlander is actually the solo star of this quartet date (which also includes either Avery Sharpe or Steve Swallow on bass and Mike Clark or Kamal Sabir on drums), taking passionate improvisations that consistently uplift the music beyond the routine. ~ Scott Yanow
