Call Me Lucky CD (2002)
Joe Khoury music CDs Using the term "lucky" to describe McGuffey Lane's career is akin to calling Shaquille O'Neal "tiny," a delicious irony not lost on the band. Call Me Lucky's jacket features a guy happily listening to his walkman, oblivious to the train bearing down on him. The imagery is not an accident given the group's tragic past of career-threatening and personal ...

Memarie CD (2003)
Joe Khoury CD discography This perky, powerful-voiced indie country chanteuse is a rarity among female country singers -- she complements her Trisha Yearwood/Reba McEntire-type vocal prowess with a strong songwriting ability. Breaking in, she had the advantage of having her dad (Jerry Cupit) as a music publisher, but she proved herself with "He'll Never Be a Lawyer," a song that was covered successfully ...

Wildcat Tamer CD (1999)
Joe Khoury discography The world at large may know Louisiana-born swamp-rockabilly great Dale Hawkins as the man who wrote "Suzy Q," which was made famous years later by Creedence Clearwater Revival. What most people may not know is that Hawkins' '50s and '60s work was endlessly inventive and eclectic, and that he deserves a place in the pantheon of early rockers like ...

Love, Loss & Lunacy CD (2006)
Joe Khoury CD discography Singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Mary Lee Kortes, aka Mary Lee's Corvette, gained considerable attention in 2002 when she released a note-for-note cover album of Bob Dylan's legendary BLOOD ON THE TRACKS. An audacious undertaking if there ever was one, the project became that much more intriguing when it was learned the Dylan himself was a big fan of the recording. 2006's LOVE, ...

Where Forever Begins CD (1995)
Joe Khoury music CDs On his second album, Ken Mellons constructs a balanced mix of tear-jerking ballads, honky tonk rockers, and plaintive, straightforward traditional country. Mellons performs the songs convincingly, but he is occasionally hurt by a lack of quality songwriting, as evidenced by the single "Rub-A-Dubbin." Although he might not be powerful enough as a vocalist to pull off lightweight material, he can deliver good songs forcefully, which is what makes the majority of Where Forever Begins an entertaining listen. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Unknown Contributor Role: Richard Hughes .
