Lifeforms CDs (1994)
Brian Dougans music CDs This album--or soundscape, as it could be described--is quite simply spellbinding. Released during an especially productive period for the loosely termed "ambient music," LIFEFORMS had considerable impact upon the musical picture of 1994. Few (if any) outfits could claim to have bettered FSOL's epic offering that year.
LIFEFORMS equally rewards both intensive and passive listening. Intensive listening reveals a taut structure, with long periods of timelessness suddenly pushed onward by contemporary dub and house beats. Passive listening gives a 90-minute collage of sound that provides a chilled-out antidote to the pace of modern life. Running water, distant chants, tribal rhythms, and various Eno-esque noises are all presented here in glorious surround-sound. Listening on headphones reveals the beauty of the soundscape even more brilliantly. FSOL must have spent many a late night learning how to employ sound technology so well. Eurotechno: Original Soundtrack CD (2002)
Brian Dougans songs A curious, very much of-its-time release that still has a certain thrill to it, Eurotechno wasn't a single or album per se initially -- instead, it's the soundtrack to a videotape of various state-of-the-art end-of-the-'80s computer special effects designed for rave projections. Or, more than likely, home viewing of the same by those who wanted to get in on the action without actually having to leave the house. ...

Accelerator CD (1991)
Brian Dougans CD discography This two-sic set features Future Sound of London's ACCELERATOR on disc one, and a collection of mixes, some of which are previoulsy unreleased, on disc two. The group's unique, forward-thinking electronica is on display throughout.
Compared to where most of the band's career would later go, Accelerator is a fairly conventional debut from the duo -- certainly it's the most explicitly commercial-minded the duo ever was, slotting in well ...
