Indian Tower CD (2006)
Joel Winter albums The three-piece Pennsylvania retro band Pearls & Brass specialize in late-1960s blues-rock. Their full-length debut, THE INDIAN TOWER, is a more-or-less constant onslaught of the aforementioned genre, with the boogie regularly interspersed with progressive rock flourishes and snaky lead guitar lines. The album's imaginative arrangements lift it out of the ordinary, though: the ethereal chanting of the album opener "The Tower" is a strong hint of the band's creative power, while "The Boy of the Willow Tree" is a full-on exercise in greasy rock & roll.
