Collection CD (1992)

20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Yngwie Malmsteen CD (2005)
Marcel Jacob CD discography Polydor's 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Yngwie Malmsteen chronicles the Swedish shredder from his Rising Force debut in 1984 to 1990's Eclipse, with equal time given to blisteringly pretentious instrumentals like "Trilogy Suite Op: 5" and "Far Beyond the Sun" and the bad metal posturing of vocalists Jeff Scott Soto, Mark Boals, and Joe Lynn Turner. There's no denying Malmsteen's impressive ...

Embrace The Galaxy CD (2004)
Marcel Jacob music CDs Rather than delivering the space rock suggested by its title, Space Odyssey's Embrace the Galaxy contains not a single lyric about space, galaxies, or anything else beyond this blue sphere for that matter (ok, they mention "stars" once). In fact, neo-Classical metal anthems such as "Entering ...

Yngwie Malmsteen Collection CD (1992)
Marcel Jacob albums This 1993 collection presents many of the finest '80s recordings by renowned heavy-metal guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen. In addition to cherry-picking tracks from his first few albums (most notably the rapid-fire "Far Beyond the Sun"), the set, which downplays his classical influences a bit, finds the Swedish six-stringer delving into Journey-like arena rock (the supremely catchy "Heaven Tonight," featuring former Rainbow singer Joe Lynn Turner) and covering one of his heroes, Jimi Hendrix, on a fierce live version of "Spanish Castle Magic." COLLECTION works as a nice introduction to this challenging virtuoso via his more accessible work.
