Mudvayne CD (2009) Top Seller
Matt McDonough songs Mudvayne's self-titled album is slightly heavier than 2008's The New Game, but it still features songs that sound like a combination of Linkin Park and Tool -- churning basslines, the occasional tribal-inspired rhythm, angsty roaring, and crooned choruses. However, there are some surprises on Mudvayne, like a surprisingly Slash-like guitar solo on "Closer" and the death metal intro to the Slipknot-esque "I Can't Wait," which recalls Mudvayne of old, moving in the direction of progressive rock while remaining extremely heavy. ~ Phil Freeman

"The Hate in Me" is a classic, sinewy funk-metal rager, with ...

By the People, For the People CD (2007)
Matt McDonough music CDs Released in 2007, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE consists primarily of live tracks and rare demos selected by Mudvayne's dedicated internet-savvy following. Standouts of PEOPLE include a pummeling concert rendition of the Los Angeles-based heavy-rock act's breakthrough single, "Dig," and a spare demo version of the eerie "Falling Into Sleep." Rounding out this stopgap release are two new tunes--the dynamic "Dull Boy," which spotlights Chad Gray's tormented vocals and Greg Tribbett's searing guitar lines, and a metallic cover of ...
