Factory Recordings CD (2008)
Jake Milton albums Stroud, England's jazz/post-punk trio originally got their break in 1979 by landing amidst the era's post-punk elite, and aligning themselves with the best label of the time, Tony Wilson's Factory Records. The label put four songs on a compilation and had plans to release a live album, IN BERLIN, but the band managed to annoy Wilson and he scrapped the project. LTM has now compiled all of these tracks as THE FACTORY RECORDINGS. It showcases band leader Ted Milton's skronky sax-playing and silly singing, and the band's tumbling cacophony and high-spirited playing. Blurt remained together for decades, though to hear the band at their most youthful and exuberant, this collection is essential.

But they were still far ahead of their time, if you consider ...

Blurt/Singles CD (2009)
Jake Milton discography Following on from LTM's comprehensive The Factory Recordings collection covering the very earliest days of Blurt, Ted Milton's defiantly unique rock/poetry/jazz fusion of whatever caught his fancy, Blurt + Singles covers the first few years of the band's studio work after their departure in annoyance from the legendary Manchester label. Beginning with both sides of their proper debut single as such, "Get" and the entertainingly titled "My Mother Was a ...
