Let Your Body Take Over CD (2006)
Connor Kelly music CDs One of the more pop-leaning bands in the Victory stable, Four Letter Lie combines highly melodic rock with occasional "screamo" interludes on 2006's LET YOUR BODY TAKE OVER, its debut for the label. While this makes for a somewhat perplexing sound (see "Feel Like Fame," which moves from light, acoustic moments to dissonant ferocity), the Minneapolis-based group is intriguing for exactly that reason.

What a Terrible Thing to Say CD (2008)
Connor Kelly CD discography The key to this Minneapolis fivesome's screamo stampede is Brian Nagan's guttural menace, which hovers impressively close to Coalesce frontman Sean Ingram's terrifying vocal tornado. Guitarist/vocalist Kevin Skaff smooths out Nagan's abrasive edges by serenading the songs' bridges with more ballad-worthy smoothness. Parallel to their interplay, jagged riffs and monster cymbal crashes collide with angular twin-guitar squalls and more delicate drum fills. The result is a record that employs familiar genre conventions but uses them as a basis for a rousing experiment in only slightly compromised aural hyper-violence.
