Abrazame CD (2004)
Rey Torres CD discography Bosse's voice is young, clear, and strong, without overwhelming you or over-emoting. She avoids, for the part, melismas and vibrato. The material she covers on this disc, nearly half of it composed by producer Alejandro Montalbán, is romantic and classy, recalling bygone days when Latin romantic pop writers studied composition and admired Gershwin. She navigates the harmonic labyrinths of these pieces effortlessly, and consistently conveys a sense of inspiration. If only the stodgy, string-laden arrangements that accompany her on every single track were as inspired... Still, this will hardly bother fans of the romantic genre, who, uncomplaining, have lapped up much worse, and will thrill at Bosse's virginal, dignified presence. ~ J. Chandler
