There'll Never Be Another Johnny Cash CD (2009)
Borders Brothers CD discography Raised on the country classics of the 60's, 70's and 80's, with artists such as Johnny Cash, The Borders Brothers have compiled this CD of "Cash sounding" originals. Carl plays the guitar and Bruce writes the songs and does most of the singing.
The Man In Black has been my hero since I was a kid and a big influence on my songwriting, as well as the way I sing. I don't think I sound that much like Johnny Cash. I just tried to write these songs in his style and then perform them that way. The music helps. Carl's guitar gives the recordings that "Cash" feel without relying too heavily on the vocals. I'm no Johnny Cash. No one is, 'cause There'll Never Be Another Johnny Cash. - Bruce A. Borders

Rock Of My Soul CD (2008)
Borders Brothers albums Carl and Bruce, The Borders Brothers, were born in Southern Missouri and raised in Central Oregon. The sons of a Pentecostal preacher, gospel music played an important key role in their upbringing. Backed by their mother on the piano, they grew up singing and playing in church.
The oldest, Carl, began playing the guitar at age nine and soon became an accomplished musician. Influenced by the likes of Merle Haggard, Carl Perkins, and Waylon Jennings, he developed his own signature style, which reflects the sounds of these guitarists. Over the years, he has been a part of numerous bands.
While still a young teenager, Bruce started writing songs, trying to emulate his favorite country artists - Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and others. This approach helped shape his songwriting and the influence of these writers is still prevalent in his music today. He has written many songs including each of the tracks on this CD.
The Borders Brothers currently reside in Oregon where both make their living driving truck. They get together to record music when they can find the time.
